More Lunatic Than Calm Vol. 1

More Lunatic Than Calm Vol. 1 is out today.

This record has been a long time coming - over 25 years or more, in fact. It’s the first proper deep dive into the lost archives of Lunatic Calm, unearthing a body of work that’s raw, heavy, and defiantly outside the lines. These are tracks that have either never seen the light of day or have existed only as whispers in the shadows - reworked, remastered, and reimagined for the here and now.

Lunatic Calm was always a beast born from chaos. We came up through the cracks - between rave and rock, techno and punk, breaks and brutality. While the dance world chased clean lines and clinical grooves, we were off in the margins, carving out something darker, heavier, and more cinematic. It was music built for the end of the world… or at least the feeling that it might be just around the corner.

And now, that sense of unease - of digital tension, societal shift, and technological overload - feels more relevant than ever.

On this record, you’ll find the adrenalised chaos of Shockwave (Lunatics Acid Remix), the deep groove of Centista, the gnarly cinematic swirl of Urban Chaos, and the swaggering heaviness of White Line Fever. You’ll hear unreleased versions, alternate mixes, and full-on beat-destroyers like Beatbox Burning (Lunatics 10-Ton Breaks Mix) and The Sound (Prototype Version) - tracks that somehow feel both lost in time and ahead of it.

And then there’s the brand new 2025 remake of Leave You Far Behind – closing the album with a firestorm of breaks and synths, updated with all the grit and intensity of now.

This album isn’t about nostalgia. It’s about unfinished business. These tracks were always part of the Lunatic Calm DNA - they just never had the chance to breathe in the way they deserved. Until now.

Thanks for listening – and for keeping the fires burning.
