Beatbox Burning (Lunatics 10-Ton Breaks Mix)

This remix was originally created in 1999 during a strange in-between phase for Lunatic Calm. We were stuck in contractual limbo with MCA/Universal, and studio time was infrequent. But every now and then, we’d fire things up just for the love of it — and this was one of those sessions.

Beatbox Burning became a bit of a live favourite. It was raw, punky, and relentless — a proper 4-to-the-floor stomper. The original version never made it onto an album, but this remix feels like it finally captures the spirit of what it became on stage.

By this point, I was already three years into my Elite Force project, and that influence is unmistakable here. It’s gritty, heavy, and full of that early big beat/breaks crossover energy — with maybe a dash of Chemical Brothers in the mix too.

The album is the first in a deep archival dive into lost, unreleased, and rare material from the 1996–2002 era — a time that shaped so much of what came after. It’s raw, unfiltered, and a full-blooded reflection of the heavier side of Lunatic Calm.
