MAD DOGS AND ENGLISH MEN
Let’s talk Collaboration.
For a number of years I ran a successful series of shows called THE ONE SERIES based around the simple premise of ‘One DJ, One Room, All Night’. While it was a joy to play 7 or 8 hour sets to people and really get to go deep into audio storytelling mode through that vehicle, one of the cornerstones of its success was collaboration.
It took a small army to create a beautiful atmosphere, and today I want to mention the amazing DJ booths that were built, from scratch, in San Francisco by my great friend Mad Dog and his team. For many years he’s been responsible for creating the Burning Man sign that you first see as you exit the road outside of Gerlach and head onto the Playa, and being able to collaborate with him on the staging for The One Series was an absolute pleasure…. Not to mention the fact he was an awesome wingman during the shows!
He succeeded in creating a superb, inspiring, platform to work from and I look forward to working with him again in the future in some shape or form.
