Decoded is a brand new monthly video series where I take you on an adventure in critical listening to figure out what makes a well-known piece of music so successful. In Part 001 I take an in-depth look at Bicep's awesome slice of timeless electronica, 'Glue'.

We’ll look at elements like vibe, instrumentation, the listener journey, the qualities of the mixdown, where you might typically hear the track being played and finally look at what makes this track so successful. We’ll also examine the way Bicep create a sense of timeless nostalgia through the judicious use of EQ and sound selection, and also look at how they manage the stereo content and frequency spectrum to create a perfectly balanced mix.
