THE SHADOWMAKER ALBUM
The Shadowmaker Album by Simon Shackleton – Out Now
The wait is over—The Shadowmaker, my latest cinematic electronic music album, is finally here. Spanning 13 deeply personal and evocative tracks, this body of work represents years of artistic reinvention, raw storytelling, and the search for light in dark places.
Drawing on influences from trip-hop, industrial blues, alternative electronica, and immersive cinematic sound design, The Shadowmaker explores vulnerability, resilience, and transformation. If you’re familiar with artists like NIN, Massive Attack, Portishead, Billie Eilish or Radiohead’s more atmospheric moments, you may recognize the same kind of moody intensity and emotional depth woven through these songs. At its heart, the album is less about fitting into a genre and more about creating a world that listeners can step into—textured, layered, and richly human.
This project also reflects my lifelong love of immersive soundscapes—the kind of music that pulls you in and lingers long after it ends. From the gritty industrial pulse of Smokestack Blues to the haunting reflection of Dying of the Light, each track carries a piece of my story while leaving space for you to find your own.
The Shadowmaker live experience has been shaped by the unwavering support of my wife, filmmaker Chele Gutek, whose cinematic vision has helped bring the music to life on stage. I’m also deeply grateful to my manager, Lesley Wright (IAmCru), whose passion and precision have guided this project from its fragile beginnings to its full release.
Now, this album is yours. I hope it resonates with you as deeply as it does with me, and that it becomes part of your own soundtrack for reflection, transformation, and release.
