Headless Chickens (latterly known as 'Headless') were a 5-piece indie band that Simon formed with Thom Yorke (yes, Radiohead) in Exeter in 1989. The line-up varied a little over the next two years, depending on who was available at the time but often included the violin skills of John Matthias and Laura Forest-Hay, both successful musicians in their own right.

The band performed numerous shows in the South West of the UK, even supporting the likes of De La Soul on one occasion. They left one single ('I Don't Wanna Go To Woodstock') and some live video as their legacy, although rumour has it there may be some rough live recordings lurking somewhere in the vaults...
